When Companies screw up but don't want to hear about it.....
Several years back, Intuit Corp, in upgrading its records system, created a new account number to alleviate the problems that the old number, dating back to 1992, was causing. The only problem was that they were double billing me, duplicating billings to both numbers. It was clearly their screw up but no one wanted to recognize their problem and it took me over a half a year (with much aggravation) to get this fixed.
Fjorden is a Norwegian company from whom I purchased a Leica application attachment for my iPhone. I ordered this through Amazon (to whom I plan to return it with full refund). They sent it without any hint of what to do - no instructions whatsoever. I went to You Tube and watched a 17+ minute video that was quite helpful but for the fact they wanted me to go to their website first - and I screwed things up because I did it incorrectly. I wrote them.......heard one quick response and answered their additional questions. I have hearad nothing since.......I will go to Whole Foods Amazon desk tomorrow and return the product.....such is life......at least I was able to be in communications with someone at Fjorden.......
And then there is Kraken. I tried to get on Coinbase to start some crypto investment........could not get it set up. I tried Kraken and was able to set up. But mid-way through my absolutely futile attempts to get it set up with 2 part authentication, the app switched to Portuguese from English and their AI Chatbox was an hour waste of time.........to compound the problem, I cannot log into the mobile app now as it will not accept my password - or let me change passwords.......I have a 'communications ticket' in with them - from two days ago......they have not yet answered......another wonderful situation.......
Warning to anyone out there who chooses to use an HMO under ACA insurance instead of a PPO: get back to the PPO!!! Katherine switched and while she likes working with St John's Hospital instead of UCLA Health, Only Astrana Health, the 'ultimate' insurance carrier in this instance, has bolloxed up Katherine's primary care physician on their records (even though I've been through this with their office and paperwork corrections multiple times) and the result is that they are rejecting all claims. Today is Saturday. I have no doubt that I will get this corrected (for the third or fourth time?) on Monday morning when I call Astrana Health.......but are these 'situtations' on today's blog something that will take up future time in my life because corporate sloppiness is now 'accepted'??? Hey, this sucks!
