CicLA Via today

I rode  the entire way - round-trip!  It was fun going out early.  It was too crowded for me on the return trip.  Nonetheless, following is how the press picked this one up today......

The third CicLAvia street festival of 2025 will be held tomorrow in the Culver City and Venice areas, where 6.75 miles of streets will be closed to motorized vehicle traffic.

The 61st CicLAvia is titled "Culver City Meets Venice,'' and will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday on a route that stretches along parts of Venice and Washington boulevards from just west of La Cienega Boulevard to Pacific Avenue at the Venice Beach Boardwalk.

Five activity hubs will be located along the route: at the Culver City Arts District, downtown Culver City, at Washington and Sawtelle Boulevard, in Mar Vista and at Venice Beach. The hubs will have water stations and
restrooms, free pedicab rides, bike parking and free basic bike repair.

CicLAvia is a non-profit organization that has been operating the regular street festivals throughout the Los Angeles area since 2010. The public is encouraged to explore what different neighborhoods have to offer by walking, biking or skating. Motorized vehicles, including motorized bikes and scooters, are forbidden along the routes.

The next CicLAvia event after Sunday will take place Sept. 14, in the historic South Central and Watts area. More information is available at ciclavia.org.

I started out at tje beach where I had bike repair pump up my two tires.  I rode past virtually all of the 'free-bee' stalls, stopping to get a free water bottle, towel and St John's Hospital promo-stuff - no, I did not know any of the group working the Main Street-Windward stall - and I purchased a couple of bike shirts from a stand with $5 shirts.  I was out 4 hours and it felt really good!
