We are in escrow!

 In a combination of financial/estate/reality/life/what0have-you planning, we are purchasing a condominium unit in the large complex diagonally across the street, south of us.  We purchased our home from afar in 2022.  We bid low - real low - when we purchased our home.  Katherine saw the apartment for sale was owned by an owner living in Kentucky with no desire to return to California.  We bid low again.....real low......the last time an apartment at this complex sold so low was in 2016.

We await the condo HOA by-laws to review and see if there are any restrictions of which we were unaware.......but we truly do not anticipate any obstacles to prevent closing on or around my birthday in a few weeks weeks........

And next week:  school begins again!!!

7 Baseball

It is late morning on a wet Saturday as the rains - more than a drizzle but not enough for me to consider taking an umbrella with me were I to go out - have been (more or less) steady since early morning, yesterday.  I'm gonna be indoors all day, today - still in my pajamas - no need to go out.......and our small home is pleasantly, comfortably warm - with a thermal vest atop the pj tops as the central heating keeps our place warm. Watching Freddie

 I started early today and while I anticipated a light day, it was 'more involved' than I anticipated.  John Achorn acted his way through chapters 19-22 of Huck Finn.  We discussed the LA Times sponsored Festival of Books at which Percival Everett, author of James, spoke.  For Summer session (8 weeks), we are going to read Raymond Carver short stories.  We were also asked for our input regarding choice of authors for the Fall semester. I got home just as Freddie's class began.  The legions of women watercolor painters who simply adore Freddie Manseau makes his Zoom class quite entertaining.  Freddie is a true character - the extent to which he plays up on this to keep his classes large is open to conjecture but regardless, I am enjoying painting!
