a rarity - a day without anxiety!

 Yesterday we went to both Santa Monica Building and Safety and the Police Bureau.  We were uncertain, in both cases, yet everything was resolved.  And we even got follow up emails when problems happened.

Tomorrow I go again to resolve the problem and follow up regarding roofers parking places needed to throw away the old shingles and stack the new stuff prior to putting on the roof.

Today?  Knowing that the weather looks like it'll be good next week and that we will be able to follow through smoothly, there is no stomach rumble....it is a semi-laid back afternoon!

It is late morning on a wet Saturday as the rains - more than a drizzle but not enough for me to consider taking an umbrella with me were I to go out - have been (more or less) steady since early morning, yesterday.  I'm gonna be indoors all day, today - still in my pajamas - no need to go out.......and our small home is pleasantly, comfortably warm - with a thermal vest atop the pj tops as the central heating keeps our place warm. Watching Freddie

 I started early today and while I anticipated a light day, it was 'more involved' than I anticipated.  John Achorn acted his way through chapters 19-22 of Huck Finn.  We discussed the LA Times sponsored Festival of Books at which Percival Everett, author of James, spoke.  For Summer session (8 weeks), we are going to read Raymond Carver short stories.  We were also asked for our input regarding choice of authors for the Fall semester. I got home just as Freddie's class began.  The legions of women watercolor painters who simply adore Freddie Manseau makes his Zoom class quite entertaining.  Freddie is a true character - the extent to which he plays up on this to keep his classes large is open to conjecture but regardless, I am enjoying painting!
