Between 4 and 7:15am this morning, it rained.

 A light rain or a heavy drizzle?  I sure as hell don't know!  My iPhone did my daily 7:15am wake up tone.  I heard a drip outside and knew that there was rain.  Not a whole lot but sufficient to soak the 4-8am Amazon delivery, placed inside our yard, without opening the gate.  Outside was soaked.  Inside was dry - hey, that's what mattered!

I craved a bagel this morning and did breakfast at NY Bagel where I noticed $8 day old bagel bags - pay for 2, get an additional one for free....really a great deal if you have freezer space.  We don't right now......but the breakfast, including vanilla vienese roast coffee was wonderful!

Now to get ready for the day's events:  posting no parking signs in preparation of roofers coming at 7am tomorrow morning. Well also cover most stuff in the house as we get ready for three days of work here.  The sun will come out soon and it's gonna be dry all week - perfect for roofing!

It is late morning on a wet Saturday as the rains - more than a drizzle but not enough for me to consider taking an umbrella with me were I to go out - have been (more or less) steady since early morning, yesterday.  I'm gonna be indoors all day, today - still in my pajamas - no need to go out.......and our small home is pleasantly, comfortably warm - with a thermal vest atop the pj tops as the central heating keeps our place warm. Watching Freddie

 I started early today and while I anticipated a light day, it was 'more involved' than I anticipated.  John Achorn acted his way through chapters 19-22 of Huck Finn.  We discussed the LA Times sponsored Festival of Books at which Percival Everett, author of James, spoke.  For Summer session (8 weeks), we are going to read Raymond Carver short stories.  We were also asked for our input regarding choice of authors for the Fall semester. I got home just as Freddie's class began.  The legions of women watercolor painters who simply adore Freddie Manseau makes his Zoom class quite entertaining.  Freddie is a true character - the extent to which he plays up on this to keep his classes large is open to conjecture but regardless, I am enjoying painting!
