 There is something very positive as a result of doing a Friday morning bicycle ride later than 'normal'.  True, auto traffic is heavier at 10am than at 8am but lousy drivers I fear are afternoon drivers - they don't get out in the mornings!!!

Regardless, since this is still a weekday, there is little lingering after the morning workouts by those still having to go to work and the beach is wonderfully quiet, void of runners, walkers, riders, whathaveyou.......and I am one who loves solitude.........!

Sooner or later I will finish my first roll of film on my Rollei, take it to Walgreens and even before I get the results back, I will start upon a B&W roll of film.  Going on mini-photoshoots a few days each week works for me......and now that I have watercolor pencils, I hope to get back to sketching, inking, coloring on a regular, recurring basis.

It is late morning on a wet Saturday as the rains - more than a drizzle but not enough for me to consider taking an umbrella with me were I to go out - have been (more or less) steady since early morning, yesterday.  I'm gonna be indoors all day, today - still in my pajamas - no need to go out.......and our small home is pleasantly, comfortably warm - with a thermal vest atop the pj tops as the central heating keeps our place warm. Watching Freddie

 I started early today and while I anticipated a light day, it was 'more involved' than I anticipated.  John Achorn acted his way through chapters 19-22 of Huck Finn.  We discussed the LA Times sponsored Festival of Books at which Percival Everett, author of James, spoke.  For Summer session (8 weeks), we are going to read Raymond Carver short stories.  We were also asked for our input regarding choice of authors for the Fall semester. I got home just as Freddie's class began.  The legions of women watercolor painters who simply adore Freddie Manseau makes his Zoom class quite entertaining.  Freddie is a true character - the extent to which he plays up on this to keep his classes large is open to conjecture but regardless, I am enjoying painting!
