Overcast and in the mid-60s(F)

 I took a morning walk, first, going to Trader Joe's for a pineapple....then I shirted up for a morning ride, a degree (C) warmer because of the delay in getting out but also, because it was overcast, there were fewer out and about half way through the bike paths I no longer had anyone blocking the path and I rode faster, solo, the rest of the ride......I loved it!!

I have more reading prior to  the final Novel class on Tuesday.  Today is a perfect day to binge read!  It is 12:10pm and while the watch shows 21C outside, it definitely feels colder.  I am listening to - and occasionally watching a Paris National Opera performance of Magic Flute.  I am seeing it at the Music Center on the 21st of this month (7 June today) and while I've seen it before (last time was at Covent Garden with Joanna - 2009???  2010???), it is always good to do a refresher, first.....no sub-titles here.....but the second act is better (to me) than act 1).

7 Baseball

It is late morning on a wet Saturday as the rains - more than a drizzle but not enough for me to consider taking an umbrella with me were I to go out - have been (more or less) steady since early morning, yesterday.  I'm gonna be indoors all day, today - still in my pajamas - no need to go out.......and our small home is pleasantly, comfortably warm - with a thermal vest atop the pj tops as the central heating keeps our place warm. Deja vu - Spring Street

 Once upon a time I spent a whole lot of time downtown - DTLA.   The was before there was even a section of the city known as DTLA.  In the early 60s, as a student in L.A., I had a part time job for an office equipment leasing company that was located on Spring Street, then, the primary business street of Los Angeles.   I took the E Line to 7th Street and then walked past Grand (and Botega Louie) Avenue to Spring Street.  I passed Clifton's Cafeteria - with that picture showing up on my phone but not the computer - and the jewelry district, getting to what was formerly the legal and financial business centre of LA.  Those buildings are now lofts and some of them look quite interesting for a home conveniently located if one works in that area.  I also passed The Last Book Store - not there when I was there but definitely a place worthy of going back to - best used book store I've seen - in the US!!!
