I really got pissed off at UCLA Health today!

I went online to the UCLA website on 2 July to make an appointment to have their lab take blood for an early August annual meeting with my GP (the third GP in two years).  Staff called me back and I made an appointment for this morning.......only to find out once the lab had me in, that there was no order from my GP and they could not take my blood without an order.  Fine, I said, how about having whoever is in charge to coordinate getting an order for another once a year drawing of blood - it is routine......and if, when my GP returns next week and discovers he needs more testing, I can always come in before my annual physical.

It took 90+ minutes before they were able to decide I was right and they got an order made and took my blood......

This should have been a quick, easy decision, not one that only happened because I did not plan to go anywhere until they acquiesced..........The excuses made at Internal Medicine - UCLAHealth- Santa Monica, this morning, were pure, unadulterated bullshit....

7 Baseball

It is late morning on a wet Saturday as the rains - more than a drizzle but not enough for me to consider taking an umbrella with me were I to go out - have been (more or less) steady since early morning, yesterday.  I'm gonna be indoors all day, today - still in my pajamas - no need to go out.......and our small home is pleasantly, comfortably warm - with a thermal vest atop the pj tops as the central heating keeps our place warm. It has been awhile.........

 I took both a flu and a covid shot at CVS on Monday, this past week.  I had a reaction on Tuesday and that more or less screwed up my entire week.  Earlier that Monday I sat through my first Valeda session that started with eye testing - each eye both 'clearly' and with dots covering that previously clear line of sight - followed by 4 series of light treatment (2 each with each eye open and 2 with each eye closed...30 sec....90 sec....30 sec....90 sec). That's it - but each is recorded in detail and reported back to the German developers and they build their data base.   So.....what do I think after 3 sessions with 6 more scheduled over the next two weeks that will complete the first of three treatments that will be scheduled this year?  Surprisingly, I actually do see the smaller letters in the eye tests a bit more clearly now than at the start of the week........and I am obviously encouraged by that! Will the world economy tank?

 I think so.  I am half-way through Ray Dalio's new book - truly something both self-indulgent and prophetic based upon some comprehensive research.  I think we are headed for some rough times and quite frankly, some alternative 'diversification' from cash&marketable securities might be called for.  An apartment to invest in?  At the right price and location and with long term potential, this is something to consider............... Consider this:  a discussion on the world economy while munching on the best that 5 Guys has that isn't even on the menu! Ask for a patty melt.  That's a grilled cheese sandwich with a hamburger patty.  Get it loaded:  mustard, ketchup, pickles, relish, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms.  Great sandwich for $10.99!!! Today, though, we will go to Century City where we will bypass Din Tai Fung and go to Panda Express in the food court for orange chicken.
